Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Learn how to play the piano or the flute. Music can be fun, relaxing, inspirational, moving, and/or communicative. Give yourself or someone else the gift of learning how to create music. My students currently range from ages 4 to young adults and those well into retirement. I try to schedule weekly lessons at a time that is convenient for you and daytime music lessons are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays for homeschoolers and adults. Whether you want to focus on music reading, classical style, jazz, rock, or if you want to be able to play along with friends at jam sessions, I am happy to help you progress at your own rate and navigate the many different musical directions that you could take. I teach students how to read music and also how to compose and improvise. Students can have a chance to perform in one or all of the 3 optional recitals/concerts each year. My teaching style is different for each student, depending on how you learn. So do not worry if you think it maybe too difficult; it's my job to get you to succeed! About me: - multi-instrumentalist, music instructor, and composer - Masters degree in Music from UNC-Greensboro

Working with Elizabeth has definitely been an eye opener to the piano world and what piano really is all about. She is very well informed in the material she is teaching me, and she definitely makes it fun and easy to understand. She challenges me to the best of my abilities, and even a little further for a challenge. I look forward to every lesson.

Elizabeth taught my brother and me piano for around 3 years. She was a great teacher to work with and was always very patient and enthusiastic with me and my brother. Just a great teacher all around.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes, I research the latest methods, I attend conferences for music teachers, and I go to concerts weekly.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You get what you pay for. My prices aren't the lowest, but they are still very competitive. I have a Bachelor's degree in music and a Masters degree in music. I have been playing since I was 4-5 years old. I have been teaching for about 14 years now. There are a lot (I mean a LOT) of music instructors out there giving private lessons, but there are not a lot of quality teachers. You will waste a lot of time, money, and potential if you spend time taking lessons from the wrong teacher (I have even experienced this myself). As in any field, there are a lot of people working in it because they either strongly think they can (even without certifications or training), or for the wrong reasons (they just need the money). Things to consider are their background experience, education, years teaching, personality, accomplishments, etc.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

It takes time to develop a skill. Creating music is very fulfilling and with time and the right fit for a teacher, you can go much further, quicker.
