Brian Ondrako is a PGA-certified teaching professional in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina. Brian has been teaching golf for over 6 years, and has given over 4,000 private golf lessons.
In addition, Brian has developed and conducted ladies clinics and junior camps. His philosophy is to work with each player, based on their goals and their time commitments. The more a player can understand about their own game, they will be able to focus more and succeed on the golf course.
Brian believes that honing all aspects of the game including full swing, short game, putting, mental game, and course management are vital to achieving one's goals.
A. It is extremely important to find a teacher you can build a relationship with. The game is a process and in order to continue succeeding it is important to work together as a team. A great relationship between the student and teacher will go a long way to improve someone's golf game. I always strive from our first encounter to get to know the student and let them know I am here for them.
A. The game of golf can be a demanding process with a ton of rewards along the way. The players that succeed the quickest are the ones that recognize it is important to practice properly and implement the techniques learned during a lesson. It is not important to hit perfect golf shots but to control how bad your misses are. The player that can achieve that mindset early on will have tremendous success.
A. It is vital that a student gets to know the professional and what their philosophy and approach are. Asking questions about their past success or education are always important as well.
A. I would like my students to know what their short and long term goals are. If they have that in mind then it helps us during the lesson to develop a "road map" of success for that time frame. If we don't have reachable goals then you can't determine the level of improvement and how far you have really come in a period of time.
