- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do continuing education classes all year long in order to stay abreast with the latest trends and hair products.. Have a big training to do this Jan2012!! Cant wait!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Well...June2000 I was living in Winston-Salem,NC and talking with one of my roommates' mom....She is a hairstylist as well. I spoke with her about finding something to major in but made money and would make me happy at the same time. We talked on several things when she said, 'Marlena, you alway have your hair nice and my daughter likes it when you do her hair when she cant come home to me to get it done." Then I realized I have been completing styles for relatives for years before I even moved there. So she named a couple of beauty schools in the area..One of the best came to mind. Dudley Beauty Systems! And thats where I graduated in June 2001! Proud to say I really love what I do and I wouldnt change it for the world!! I have made so many clients happy and they continue to come back!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I love what I do......which is managing healthy hair for my clients!
