FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father has done construction for as long as I can remember. I started helping him when I was only 14 years old. I finally took over for him and have been enjoying my job ever since.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I did one job where it was almost intimidating deciding where to even start. It was a complete makeover from basement to roof. We turned a third bedroom into a master bath with a 4'x11' walk-in tile shower, removed a wall between the dining room and living room to open up the floor space, sheetrocked the entire house and tiled the kitchen and bathrooms to start. Outside we built a 30'x30' attached carport, two rustic porches with rough cut posts and beams and t&g planking. The corners were rocked and the brick was painted. We built all wooden shutters and matching solid wood entry doors. Words can't really describe the difference in this house from start to finish.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Talk to contractor or service provider. Ask for references. If they can not at least provide references that should tell you something about their work. Most importantly, don't let the price be the deciding factor. While it is important, you want to hire someone that knows what they are doing, someone that shows interests in your project and someone that you feel you can trust with your house.
