Founded by filmmaker Stephen Van Vuuren, SV2 Studios produces projects in film, digital cinema, video, sound, and animation for clients in Greensboro, the Triad and around the US.
Stephen has written, directed, photographed and/or edited several feature films, over a dozen short films and many commercials, music videos, sound, music and web projects. He has also worked on many productions as a director of photography, cinematographer, editor, sound mixer, visual FX artist and sound designer. Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. With digital cinema and video production, look beyond the rate card. Turnkey production produces the highest quality results - a company with not just gear and technical savvy, but creative talent and the ability to successful deliver complex, quality projects on deadline.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. If you are trying to figure out the best production company to hire, make sure you hire a company that understands the power of film and video. The inside secret is that film and video are not good informational mediums, film and video is an emotional medium.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. First, find out exactly what skills and experience a company brings to the table that are really theirs (and not based on sub-contractors they hire). Do they have deep experience with turnkey projects - i.e. handling the complete life cycle of projects. Last, be sure to find out exactly what of their sample work is actually their work (as opposed to projects that only contributed a small piece).
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. The most critical aspect to creating a successful film or video project is understanding exactly what you want to say, how you want to say it and to whom you want to say it to before doing anything else.
