As a Project Mgr of a local building company and someone who has been involved around residential construction for over 20 years, I am often asked for good referrals. When it comes to interior trim, I have many people that I could refer, but I always refer Trim Time as the first option. Unlike many "trim carpenters" that I have come across over the years, Bill does not have to rely on painters to make his work look good. His work always looks the same whether it's a project that requires stain or paint. In addition to superior craftsmanship, Bill has the ability to design for the customer or simply reproduce something that a customer may have seen in a picture of photograph. Simply put...I highly recommend Trim Time.

I have had my share of craftsmen work for me over the years doing various jobs, large to small. I don't impress easily and have found that many of them took short cuts to save money or time and then want to overcharge you. Not this one. Bill gave me an estimate for a hidden bookshelf door. He came in and listened to what I wanted and built the door as planned. He was able to sit with me, go over the plan and offer some ideas that I haven't thought of. He stuck to the estimate exactly and didn't go over. I've never had anyone stick to their estimate, they always seem to go over for some reason or another. The door is wonderful, the workmanship excellent. Bill used quality materials in his construction. He works the entire time he is on the job site, no sitting around wasting time that you pay for. To hide an entire room in plain sight takes a lot of skill and attention to fine detail. I cant do it myself and know that. I also know that good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good. This is why I hired a Master Craftsman. He cleaned up the work space after the job. I've had contractors in my home that never noticed that the built-in bookshelf was actually a door or that there was a 10x12 room hidden away from sight. Trim Time delivers excellence to your home. He is very honest and I would definitely recommend him to do other jobs.

Excellent service. Very professional and top-notch product. Though our house is not a million $ home, the carpentry in it would match up against any million $ home out there. Thank you!!

Bill was a pleasure to work with. The crown molding he put in on our entire first floor looks great! He finished in less time than expected, the work looked wonderful, and he was very responsive. Left our home neater than it was when he started. Highly recommended!

FAQs

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

In Southern Village ( Chapel Hill ), I installed coffers in a 17' x 20' great room with 12' ceilings. I also modified two existing cabinets on each side of the fire place to make the spaces flow.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Whether you are thinking about moldings, built-ins, coffer-ed ceilings, bookcases, on and on...., the truth of the matter is, none of these add significant value in the resale of your home, especially if you live in a subdivision. However, when it's time to sell, it does give you a huge advantage over any other home in your price range. The extra MORTGAGE payments you make while you wait for your home to sell, could be used instead to enhance your home to sell far before others with a similar floor plan. Plus, you'll get to enjoy it for as long as you stay!
