FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Although I usually bid the project per hour, if you and I can specifics, the estimate can be much more accurate. I like to price per piece, and a not to exceed cost, when specifics are given by my potential client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know how much involvement in the design process each new client would like. Usually I discuss specifics, (as in what media is your project to be used), provide an estimate and completion date, then discuss payment options. If a client is local, I like to meet personally with them. If not, email and phone calls are sufficient. I prefer total payment when the project is completed and accepted by the client. The ownership (copyrights) are determined per project and usually are totally owned by the client, unless there are ongoing projects involved.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have received a BFA degree in Advertising and Illustration from CCAD in Columbus, Ohio. While serving as a spec five in the U.S. Army, I have extensive on then job training in illustration and design, to promote the volunteer army in the 70s. I also have studied website design at SPCC in Monroe, NC. Continuing training is occurring on the Adobe Creative Cloud software tools that I use on creative projects. Over forty years of experience in both manual and digital design and production art are my calling cards when determining how to approach a new project.
