Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. That web design is not at all like design for print media. With print media, you can determine exactly how everyone will see the piece that is printed. With the web, you have a wide range of browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, etc) using a wide range of monitor resolutions on different operating systems (PC, Macintosh, mobile devices). To design for the web you have to reach a common denominator that is viewable for all - and all will look slightly different.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. The first 25 years of my career was spent as a graphic designer and creative director for several successful advertising agencies. I bring my knowledge of graphic design for print as well as marketing expertise to the table in developing web design for our clients. We focus on "custom" websites designed to reflect your corporate image and geared toward your target audience. We spend a lot of time in researching your competitors to identify their strong points and weaknesses, and we take that into consideration in custom designing your site. We don't just "throw up a pretty site". At NC Web Pros, a lot of time and research goes into every project.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. What is like most is meeting a lot of different people from a wide variety of backgrounds and putting together a web-based solution that provides my clients with results. We don't want to "take the money and run". We want to develop a long lasting relationship with our clients, and those relationships are a big part of what I like most about my job.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. How much does it cost to design a website, is perhaps the most commonly asked, but most difficult to answer. Price depends on your budget and what it is you want the website to "do". For example: will it be a static website in which once it is designed you will make minimal changes and only requires a limited number of pages? If so, we have a solution for that under $1000.00. Do you want something more complex? Would you like the ability to login via an admin panel and make changes to the site yourself? Do you want the ability to add an unlimited number of pages and will there be constant changes to the site? If so, then we have another solution for that (content management) that starts at $1250. Do you want to sell products on the internet? Then we have a solution for that. Price all depends on what you need, your budget - then we will design something to fit.
