FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All meet-and-greet consultations are complimentary. Please note that the holiday rate is charged on the three days surrounding a major federal holiday. For example, December 24th, 25th, and 26th are all charged at the holiday rate for whichever service you require.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with a complimentary meet-and-greet appointment to better learn your needs and meet your pets. We will review every aspect of their care and your expectations for pet sitting, dog boarding, doggy daycare, or dog walking. I'll happily answer any of your questions about my services, what I provide, what is included, and what I strive for with each client. Information we will go over before a boarding reservation: •I am insured by Pet Care Insurance. •Your dog(s) must be up to date on their rabies vaccination (1 or 3 years). •I require that they are flea-free before entering my home for a meet and greet, boarding, or daycare session. •Food should be in a storage container/Tupperware, not a Ziplock bag. It's hard to scoop from plastic bags. However, pre-portioned individual baggies are okay. •Please include the scoop you use to measure the food and let me know how much and when. I can not leave food down all day for safety issues. I feed at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. but can incorporate additional times. •You do not need to bring dog bowls unless it’s a special slow feeder. I have an extensive collection of food and water bowls. •Let me know if they have allergies and/or medications and how to treat and dispense them. •I'd prefer it if you didn't bring toys, but if you do, please only bring toys that you're 100% okay with possibly getting destroyed. •Favorite treats are okay, but they will get shared. •I have several dog beds, but you can bring their bed from home. •I need to know the usual sleeping arrangement. I can't always accommodate dogs used to sleeping in their owner's beds. It all depends on the dog's size and how they interact with my cat. •I only crate dogs at the owner’s request, if they are highly destructive or not house-trained. Please let me know if they need to be crated when I am not home or at night. I already have an XS, medium, and large wire crate, but if they need a different size or type, you will need to bring it. •I respect that some owners provide rawhide treats or animal bones at their homes; however, if rawhide or bones are brought, I will not dispense them to any dogs as rawhide is bad for digestion and animal bones pose a broken-tooth risk.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 13 years of experience caring for animals of all kinds and currently have one dog and one cat of my own. I have done regular pet sitting and dog boarding for friends and local families for the past five years.
