My son, age 5, started lessons once a week with Carrie Everhart 8 months ago. We do not own a horse, so he rides one of the Shawnee Acres horses. He has made so much progress with Carrie. She is an excellent teacher, with a lot of creative ideas. She has amazing patience with children, and adapts her teaching to individual learning styles. In addition to weekly lessons, she also helps her students at horse shows, and in our case she transports one of her horses & tack for my son. He has won ribbons at every show he has entered --- and he had no prior knowledge or background. If you are looking for a riding instructor and a mentor, you will do well to associate yourself with Carrie Everhart.

My daughter Kassidy has been a student with Carrie for almost a year. She had very little knowledge of horses or riding before she began training with Carrie at Shawnee Acres. She is always excited to go for her lessons and is progressing very quickly with her riding skills. We currently use Carrie's horses for lessons. She has several very nice lesson horses that are appropriate for any level rider. Prior to begining lessons with Carrie, my daughter briefly took lessons at another barn. Let me say- there is a difference in instructors- Carrie is always professional, has excellent credentials, and is great with the kids. Kassidy loves going for her lessons and has learned a great deal under Carrie's guidance. I would strongly recommend her services to anyone interested in riding.

My daughter has been a student of Carrie's at Shawnee Acres for a little over a year now. She is extremely professional and always calm with her riders. She values and teaches safety, respect and teamwork. My daughter has learned alot and I am always comfortable with what she is doing in lessons. Whenever there is a judgement call to be made in terms of what a student is capable of in lessons or in the show ring, she takes the more cautious route. We have had a wonderful experience.

Though we have only been with Shawnee Acres a couple weeks we were immediately impressed with Carrie. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and cares about her riders. She takes her time with them and really teaches to them and engages the rider. We are very pleased with our decision to ride with Carrie at Shawnee Acres.

I sent a young horse for training at Shawnee Acres and was very pleased. They did a lot of ground/ round pen work before actually riding. I really appreciate the fact that Carrie trailered the young horse off site and to low level shows in order to add to her experiences. Compared to my home barn, Carrie's barn has lots of activity so a young horse is exposed to different sights and sounds. I really appreciated many pictures sent by email to chronicle her progress. Since the trainee has been back home, she has been brave and responsive. We have a second horse in training now and I plan to send another when it cools off.
