Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Logo design & branding, graphic design, photography and web design

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask for referrals! Check around don't settle with the first designer or company you talk to. If you have a good fuzzy feeling about the designer during the meet and greet go with your instincts.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. If you are seeking logo design... consider what media will is be displayed on. Can you read it on a back of a vehicle 10 feet away? Are you going to market your company all over the community? There is a difference in a Brand and just a simple logo design. Think about the future of your brand and how far you want to take it!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Knowledge and creativity! I have 12 years of art education and 11 years of professional graphic design experience. Combine that with the passion and my quarkie personality and KABAM!!! There you have it.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. It's art class 13 hours a day!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Do you have a degree? No... I have over 12 years of professional experience not including years of art training and education.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Designing takes time, skill and knowledge. Good work doesn't happen in 5 minutes for $10

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have been in art classes, training and education from 2nd grade through college. I have had artwork displayed in museums, won contests and so forth. I enjoy art and appreciate the hard work it takes to get to the final product. With pen tablets taking over ole fashioned paint brushes I had to make the switch.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. There are several jobs im proud of but the most recent would be for a Eco-Friendly product company. The client was a pleasure to work with which made designing for them less like a job and more like playing in art class. I was able to have a hour interview and from there was able to create a company brand, a website and a shopping cart with out any revisions.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Most defiantly! I follow several designer resources online, online training for adobe products to stay up to date and subscribe to several designer magazines.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. HTML5! This is a whole new world of scripting. Similar to flash however more scripting and more compatible with mobile devices such as ipads, iphone and droid

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Most of the time my prices are at an hourly rate. I do this because design projects very and it's not a cookie cutter service.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. You must be able to work with people even if you don't completely agree on what the customer wants. You can advise but at the end of the day it's up to the customer and what they want. If you can't handle critiques this isn't the profession for you.
