FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! I'm always attending conventions and taking classes/seminars whenever I can. I love to learn and I love to share my knowledge with others!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do mostly television work at the moment. I've done film and I've taught special effects makeup for the Film & Video Production Technology program at a community college, so I'm usually flooded with requests around Halloween. I get a lot of requests for consultations and lessons, but I don't do too many of them because of the amount of background work I like to put in. I like to be able to really give the client what they need and that sometimes requires a lot of preparation. Since my time is somewhat limited, I tend to be very selective. I am also fortunate to have a talented assistant that I am able to refer.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It usually takes 45 minutes to an hour for a professional makeup application. When you contact us, keep that in mind, give us exact times, and all the details that you can immediately. We'll contact you with any questions we have. Be specific. Know exactly what you want and ask for it. Provide photos. If we have a photo to go by, it's easier to see what you're talking about without having to guess. You have no idea how many different interpretations of "the smoky eye" there are. With regard to weddings (and why I usually will not do them) If you have never worn makeup before, don't be shocked if you don't look the same. That's the point. Your skin will be even and your features will be highlighted. Many women who don't wear makeup hire a makeup artist on their wedding day... then subsequently freak out. Don't be that girl. You hired us so that you would look nice in your photos. Let us do our jobs, or don't hire us at all.
