FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Drew's Cabinets & Cases specializes in kitchens, bathrooms, home work stations, media centers, pantries, closets and garage storage solutions. All projects can be done in face frame with full over lay doors and drawers or inset doors and drawers. Or for greater access to the interior space of your cabinets frameless constuction. In addition I also offer retrofits for doors, drawers and hardware upgrades. Another area of service is cabinet repair and modifications. There are times that the original hardware may fail or a drawer may come apart and need repair. Perhaps a glass panel is desired where there is a wood panel and we can do that as well along with decoreative glass sourcing. Cabinet modifications can be anything from making a cabinet more usable to reconfiguring the existing set up.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The most common advice that I can offer is when looking at cabinetry is, quality of materials and finish!!! The first is not all plywood is the same. Some of my competition while claiming all plywood construction are using Chinese imported plywood to offer low price point. So why is this so bad you ask? Imported plywood is not held to the same air quality standards as the domesticly produced plywoods(formaldehyde emissions that affect indoor air quality), imports also are not made the same. They tend to warp, twist and delaminate within hours of cutting for fabrication. I have seen all the above happen first hand in other shops and made up my mind right there and then swore never would I use imported sheetgoods! Using materials properly in the construction of your cabinets wil mean the difference between remodeling again in 10 to 12 years due to poor constuction and materials or 25 to 30 years because of design style. Next is the hardware. So much of it comes from overseas and there are different levels of the Good the Bad and the Very ugly. If the fit, form and function is anything other than outstanding, then there will be issues in the future and the only fix will be complete replacement. Finally is finish. Are the differences? you bet and most of it comes to preparation and training in the use of those materials. I pride my company on continuing education. In the past year over 40 hours has been invested in just finish training and equipment.
