Introduction: Pro AV Services offers various types of repair services, for both professional and home loudspeakers, by a certified speaker repair technician.
Speaker Re-foaming
Are foam edges rotted on your favorite speakers? We can help you in replacing them, and to make your speakers sound like new again. This is very a cost-effective alternative to buying new speakers. You wouldn't get rid of your car because it needed tires would you? Don't trash your speakers because the foam is rotted!
Only the foam surrounding the cone is replaced when re-foaming a speaker (the foam material which connects the speaker frame to the rim of the cone).
Over time (usually 3 to 10 years), the poly-foam suspension, surround on a woofer, or mid range speaker will disintegrate or "dry rot." When this occurs, the speaker will often lose its bass response, sound distorted, and pop or buzz.
- We will replace the foam surround.
- The speaker will be returned back to you performing like how it performed when it was still new.
- We will not alter the way your speaker was designed, so it will keep your original sound.
- The cost is generally fifty percent less than the price if you buy a new speaker.
- All re-foams are covered by our 1 year warranty.
Speaker Re-coning
When re-coning a speaker, all the old parts are taken off the speaker frame, and the speaker is entirely rebuilt by replacing the cone, voice coil, surround, spider, dust cap, lead wires, and gaskets; only the frame is re-used.
- We replace all moving parts of the speaker.
- The cost is generally about fifty percent less than the price if you buy a new speaker, and then it is thoroughly tested upon completion.
- We can re-cone any speaker if parts are available.
