Introduction: RL Blackburn - Pro Home Services takes great care in going the extra mile for the customer. I'm extremely picky when it comes to quality and refuse to do second rate work. Over the years as a licensed contractor, I've ran into 100's of fly-by-night contactors that take no pride at all in their work, they promise the world, but when they get their check you never hear from them again. That's why it's so important to hire licensed contractors. We have to stay updated yearly with continuing ed courses on code changes, building practices, laws and building sciences. The un-licensed company answers to no one. What I love most about construction is taking common materials and building masterpieces that I can be proud of when I drive by years from now. I love seeing the customers face when we're finished and hearing them say, "Wow! You guys really go the extra mile." There's a lot of satisfaction out of knowing that the work I completed will be a part of the customers life for years to come.

Pro Home Services did a fabulous job at my house! They did a process called "spray knock down" over my paneling. My house had the 3 D's. It was dark, dreary, and dated. Pro Home Services came in, taped the joints in the paneling, and applied the spray knock down and painted. They were in and out in no time. Plus, this process was soooo much less expensive than replacing my paneling with sheet rock and it looks great. I couldn't be more happy with it! Everyone that comes in my house comments on the beautiful texture of my walls. I know that in the springtime we all concentrate on what needs to be done on the outside. But, walls need love too!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I've been a custom home builder (homes in the 350k-500k range) for over 15 years, so I'm used to building from the ground up. Since the economy has went South and people are deciding to remodel their existing homes instead of purchasing a new home, I've transitioned back into home improvements and remodeling. Most of my jobs lately have been custom painting, tile, basement remodels, updating lighting fixtures, decks and room additions, but I offer much, much more.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My advice would be over and over again, hire licensed contractors. There are so many rip-off-artists in this area. I can't believe someone would put their possessions at risk, family at risk and mostly safety at risk, to save a buck and hire the cheap guy in the pickup. It's not worth it in the end.
