I started when Yahoo! had eight links on its home page, and you could get there only through a dial-up modem. So much has changed since then. I have seen trends come and go. I've seen what works, and what has failed in spite of rave reviews. I know when it's best to adapt, ignore, or incorporate something new. My work also stands out because when I design a website, I design the WHOLE website: the page design, navigation, structure, content, photos/graphics, and basic SEO. I am not a programmer who creates a site shell and expects you to fill it.   • What types of customers have you worked with?

    I design websites and incorporate first-level SEO into them. I write text, design graphics, record videos and audio clips, take and edit photos for publication on the web. I design, write and take photos for print publications. I write and edit newsletters, and can design a template for you. In addition to these services, I also write responses to RFPs (Request for Proposals) and grant applications.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Designing a website is much more than getting someone to program or illustrate a pretty page frame. It involves writing content in a style that's meant for the web, using photos, graphics and video to enhance your content, and creating everything to work with electronic media. And then you have to make it work on tablets and phones, too. Search engine optimization techniques must be incorporated into the process. All of this must coordinate with your print media. But you can't just take your print materials and post them on the Web. You need to adapt your message to the media you're using to present it. Because of my 30+ years of communications experience, including 16 years of Web design experience, I can do BOTH for you. Whatever you need, I'll make sure it works with the marketing messages you already have in place. Or if that's not working, I'll create a new marketing strategy for you.
