Survey findings and summary
After a two-month survey of over 6,000 small business owners nationwide, Thumbtack.com has released new data showing that small businesses gave Omaha an 'A' for its overall business-friendliness. The city also earned an A+ for its training programs, and the city's small business are the fastest-growing nationwide and the most optimistic about their economic future. Omaha did struggle in several categories, however: it earned a 'D' for networking opportunities and a 'D' for its environmental regulations.
Some of the key findings for Omaha include:
- Omaha small businesses were the most optimistic in the country about their economic prospects over the coming year.
- Nebraska soared above its rivals nationwide in a variety of rankings and earned an A+ grade for being the #4 least-costly state in the nation for hiring a new employee. The state's small business were also remarkably healthy, earning a #1 ranking for both fastest-growing and most optimistic about their economic future and a #2 ranking for healthiest overall.
