Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Always ask the contractor if he or she is licensed, bonded, and insured for their own protection. The contractor should have at least their license number with them.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Having a well grounded electrical system is the most important part to have for a persons home or business. Most older homes (before 1984) do not have a grounded meter socket, which leaves their house not fully protected.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Really, any question that a customer has should be able to be answered by the service provider. I do not have any problem answering any type of question form a customer, even if it is about myself.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are a small company so our prices can be kept low, but that doesn't effect the quality of service our customers will receive. At All Wired Up our customers will always be informed in what we are going to do before we start and throughout the process.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I like meeting new people and enjoy helping them with whatever their electrical needs are.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Are you licensed and insured? Yes, I am Licensed, Insured, and Bonded

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That they shouldn't take electricity for granted. Myself and other Licensed Contractors have had proper training, testing , and continuing education to install all electrical work, so even though the books and TV shows make it look easy, I would tell people to "PLEASE" call an Electrical Contractor.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I recently did the layout and installation for all of the lights, switches, and outlets in a new basement finish. The customer was so happy with the results that thet couldn't stop thanking me. Their friends and family kept making remarks that they should have had their basements done by my company instead of their builder.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes, I have to perform 12 hours of continuing education every two years to keep updated on the new codes.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Mostly it is the development of LED lighting. The costs should start to go down for these type of lights as more of the manufacturers will be making them. They are much better in my opinion than CFLs since the light is better and you do not have to worry about the mercury gas that is in the CFLs. Plus most have a lifetime or close to lifetime warranty.
