FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Photography has always been a part of my life. I developed my first roll of film in 1993, and have been shooting ever since. I became a photographer because it's something I love - the perfect marriage of science and creativity!! I love the technical aspects of light control, strobe work, and composition - and I love working with an idea, creating a story, and producing something meaningful for each client.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
In the past, I shot more commercially specific projects - architectural, products, advertising, events. That will always be my first love. Since I've opened my studio service, I'm shooting more families, models, and personal photos for men and women at various stages of their lives. It's nice to capture something that touches a life in a way that commercial work just doesn't do. (I have yet to see anyone love a photo of a bottle of perfume as much as they love a photo of themselves)
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do not shop on price alone! I've seen many folks worry only about the bottom dollar and not about the quality or consistency of a photographer's work. We all need to keep our budgets in check, of course, but consider also the entire experience. Quality craftsmanship is valuable, so don't throw your money away on hiring the cheapest person you can find.
