Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If you are in the market for a photographer make sure you "click" with them (pun definitely intended!). Having a good relationship and feeling comfortable will make all the difference in the world for your pictures!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. In this day and age where it is easy to get a nice camera and also easy to learn how to use one online, people need to know that it is NOT just the equipment that make a great photograph. The emotion, the knowledge and the skill a photographer puts into their work can make a huge difference.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Why? Why is the person you are considering a photographer? Why do they shoot on location or in a studio, why do they prefer to work with families or do weddings or just photograph seniors? Get the story behind the professional and you might be surprised at what you find.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. When considering a photographer it is important to know what you are looking for! Do you want posed, "traditional" photographs? Would you like more "lifestyle," outdoor photos? Do you need someone to help you pick out your clothing, recommend a location, and time for your session?

It is also a great idea to know the photographers credentials. How long have they been working? Are they self taught? Do they belong to any professional groups?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I truly believe I have the ability to capture a great photograph not only because of technical skills, or knowing how to operate my equipment, but because I connect with people. I take pride in the fact that I can capture the essence of a person or a family and have it shine through in my photography. I have been told time and time again by clients that I captured "them" and I love to hear that.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love meeting people, getting to know people's stories, and truly connecting with my clients. I love knowing that I get to play a small role in a very important part of their lives. I also absolutely love how being behind a camera makes me feel - there is nothing better for me!
