Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Make sure that the performer or teacher has experience working with children, and talk to him or her on the phone in order to decide if the personality matches that of your child. When hiring someone for seniors, ask about past experience, song choices and performing style. Describe what type of event you are having and what kind of mood you are trying to create with music.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. With music, you sometimes get what you pay for. Not all entertainers are equally talented or experienced. Some are not prepared and do not do their homework. Make sure you hire someone with a good work ethic and someone who will respect your audience, be it a young or an older one. Don't be afraid to ask for references!
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. How many years have you been in business? How do you like to be paid? Is there anything you would like us to provide on the day of the service? Does it matter how many guests we have? Is there anything we need to know in order to prepare for your visit? Do you need a deposit? What happens if we need to cancel?

Amy came into our lives 13 years ago when she sang at my daughters preschool. Her gentle, but lively way of performing songs and stories kept us entertained for many years. Even today, if we see her performing with her folk music group, it brings a smile to our faces.
