I have been an avid bird hunter for years but never had a trained dog of my own. Recently I got a new dog and decided this time I wanted to train the dog for the field. I was recommended to EAST COAST FIELD DOG by a friend and went to meet the trainner. We have gotten together several times for training and I can't tell you how much I am impressed with how my dog works. The training has been great. For any one who wants a good hunting buddy and a well trained dog, this is the trainer to see!!!

I like the website, and they are very helpful.
I had several questions regarding my first puppy I am soon picking up soon. John was very patient with me and went into detail on several questions asked. Very nice...thanks!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure you are comfortable with the trainer you select. This has the potential to be a long relationship. If you have a dog on the sensitive side, absolutely make sure the trainer has trained sensitive dogs. There are trainers out there that can ruin a fine hunting dog on the sensitive side if they don’t know how to approach this type of dog.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Love the dogs and the training of them. I get a lot of satisfaction taking a dog that doesn’t know what to do in the field and teaching/guiding it into what it was bred for.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. For the love of the dogs, and to teach owners how to become better trainers and learn the correct approach. I have seen quite a bit of mishandling of dogs. One of which is just plan yelling.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. My soft approach in training.
