Larry recommended a full cap restoration with a stainless steel cap and chimney rebuild. His pricing was fair, the work done on time, and the quality seems terrific.

Most importantly, after 2 years we developed a leak due to a bent cricket. Larry was on hand immediately to repair the problem and seal the leak all under his 10 year warranty.

    Hi All,

Larry Pelkey was the best chimney professional I employed. He was courteous, on time, clean, and provided me with a competitive quote. He came on the specified day, and installed my fireplace insert. He ran into some snags, as the liner did not match my insert, and required an offset box, which was not possible to discern until you put everything together. He ordered the additional offset box, and came back with the offset box the following week, and installed it properly and correctly. He charged me only for the offset box, and waived the installation fees. The one area of improvement might be in thinking through the liner connections, and anticipating that an offset box may be needed(An offset box is not typically needed, and like I said before until everything falls in place, it is hard to know if one is needed, and what size is needed). His work was thorough, meticulous, and rigorous. He even started a fire to ensure it was not smoking, and working properly before he left. If you have anything to do with chimney he is your guy--he will have it done the safe and right way.

Larry responded to my Craigslist posting for someone to repair my chimney, line it and install a used wood stove. I was initially struck with Larry's responsiveness and the way he answered several rounds of questions I asked him. It was clear to me that he'd be someone who was fair and easy to work with so I hired him for the job. On install day, Larry texted to let me know he was on the way and showed up EXACTLY when he said he would. We discussed several details that popped up once he had a look at the chimney then he got to work installing the liner. He and his crew were professional, courteous and neat. They finished in a few hours and we said our goodbyes. Later that night I lit a fire in the stove and was concerned because a bit of smoke was coming back into the room. I texted Larry and he responded immediately and offered to come over the next day to investigate. Again he arrived right on time and with with a true desire to understand the situation and make it right. We spent over an hour lighting and experimenting with the stove, liner and chimney cap. Larry finally determined that the chimney needed a larger liner (he had originally installed a smaller one at my request). He ordered the parts the next day and scheduled a redo of the job at my earliest convenience. Again he arrived exactly on time and texted while he was in route. He installed the new liner and we tested the stove - problem solved. I offered to pay Larry for the extra work and liner, but her refused simply saying "I didn't get it right the first time and that's on me - no reason you should have to pay for me to come out a second time" Have you ever heard anyone say that - AND MEAN IT!!!!! I will never call another mason or chimney person and I intend to ask Larry to rebuild an outdoor patio in the spring. I couldn't give him a high enough recommendation and I've never been more impressed. Larry - all the best.

My husband and I got to know Larry from other friends in our town. We visited his house and loved the atmosphere that his wood stove provided and hired Larry to install a wood stove in our house. We purchased a wood stove and Larry crew showed up. Unfortunately being a novice I bought one that would not accommodate the area we wanted to install the stove. Larry and his wife quickly jumped in to remedy this situation and took me to stove shops to look at alternative options. Ultimately Larry spent a day going to find the perfect stove to fit our needs. He drove to Western MA. to pick it up and delivered it to our home. Talk about going above and beyond to make your customers happy! It was promptly installed and Larry even checked back twice to make sure we were satisfied. I would definitely recommend Larry and his team for their wonderful work and dedication to their customers.
THANK YOU SO MUCH LARRY AND CREW!

We hired Larry to inspect our chimney and to install a woodstove in our fireplace.

Larry promptly returned my emails and calls and showed up when and where he said her would. He and his crew were extremely professional, performed the work according to the scope we discussed in accordance with the timeline we wanted and I would absolutely hire him again.

Larry Pelkey is the man to deal with when you need chimney work done. He did what he said he was going to do on time and at affordable price. He returned my call in a timely fashion and cleaned up after the work was done. He even started a fire in my wood stove to make sure everything was working properly before he left. I would recommend Larry and his crew to anyone who likes dealing with a honest, reliable person. Judith S

My mother happened to meet Larry Pelkey in a grocery store parking lot. That's how I heard of him - from the business card she had. I needed a chimney sweep, as our regular chimney sweep is no longer in the business. I had a little concern, having dealt with a dishonest one in the past. . .But the chimney needed cleaning before I could fire up the wood stove, and when winter comes in New England, that's not an option, so we hired him! And were we ever more than pleased that we hired Larry! He is as honest as the day is long! His work is top-notch, and neat and clean, and timely. Not only did he clean out my chimney - - he emptied last year's ashes from the wood stove, too. (I've never had anyone do that before.) He laid down a heavy black cloth, so all the bits of dust and soot were on that. Again, I've never had that done before. Come to find out, as a general matter of normal maintenance, he always puts on a coat of breathable waterproofing (customer willing, of course). I've never known of a chimney sweep to do that as a matter of course. He is able to give you lots of information so that you're a fully-informed and educated wood stove and fireplace user. Not only is he an expert in the matter of cleaning of the flues and stoves, he is also a mason by trade. This means he can actually give sound, reliable advice about the structure of the chimney itself. This is, of course, invaluable, because often it isn't a simple matter of merely cleaning a flue. The structure itself needs to be properly maintained and one needs a reliable mason to speak to that aspect. So I'd like to share right here that I can recommend him gladly. It was refreshing dealing with PC Chimney Systems. I feel relieved to know right where to call next year when the chimney needs its annual cleaning.

I'm so glad I found Larry, it is really hard to find honest, reliable and friendly crew out there to do work for your home. He came and gave us a very fair quote to put a liner in my chimney and put on a new cap. He came when he said he would and finished the job very quickly. I then hired him to fix my mother's chimney. He took care of my mother more than I had expected he would. Larry is a stand up guy who is very reliable and very reasonably priced. He is not out there to take advantage of people to get the most money out of a job like other companies. For any other jobs I will need in the future, I will most definitely hire Larry again and refer him to anyone else I know that needs work done.

Thank you Larry for taking care of us

    Your friend

I hired Larry Pelkey and his crew to do a few basement projects in our condominium. He was always very pleasant and prompt in his responses, gave great advice about possible solutions and options to our basement problems and very straightforward with cost of materials and cost of labor. He did a fantastic job, all work was completely in a timely fashion and there were no hidden costs or unexpected surprises. I am thrilled I found him and plan on hiring him again in the future.
