Yes, I said free. At Parcel Room, we have a package notification system to allow us to email you when we receive a shipment or package. We are delighted to be able to offer this service for free to our mailbox customers. When a package or letter comes in through DHL, FedEx , UPS, or USPS (that requires signature), we scan it into our system; you will be sent a message that you have a package at the store for pick up.

We offer mail forwarding services.

Both stores offer mail forwarding and package forwarding services. Mailbox customers can choose between weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or even on-call forwarding. Forwarding must be set up when you open the box, or in person at a later date.

Typical forwarding service costs are $1.00 per forward plus the shipping. The cost of shipping can vary depending on the amount of mail you have, the type of service you require, and if there are any packages to be shipped.

We request that on-call forwarding be done via fax or email as we try to send right away, and if we are busy with other customers, we cannot take down new addresses and service our customers in the store. Forwarding funds must be deposited to the store; we work from the funds you have on hand. We require that you have enough funds on hand to cover the costs of several shipments.

Please remember that you can always email or call and inquire if you have mail, but we cannot tell you what the mail is or who it is from. This is for your protection.

What is the difference between a private mailbox at Parcel Room and a post-office box at the post office?

With a mailbox at Parcel Room, you get a real street address, not a P.O. box number. If you’re a business owner, having a real street address as your mailbox can provide you with a professional image for your business. Parcel Room also offers many additional services that the post office does not: services like package acceptance from all carriers and package notification via email and caller in service - all aimed to save you valuable time.

What does my mailing address look like?

Your mailing address will be the address of Parcel Room location, with either PMB (private mailbox) or the pound symbol (#) designating your individual box. Instead of Parcel Room, your name appears first.

What is a mailbox service agreement?

The mailbox service agreement is an agreement between Parcel Room location and the box holder for the duration you receive mail at that location.

How much does a mailbox agreement cost?

Where can I sign up for a mailbox agreement?

You can come in to either location and complete the forms, or download and follow the instruction sheet.

What is the minimum length of an agreement?

Three months is the minimum rental period.

How much mail can I receive at my mailbox?

Have a look at the sizes we offer; the staff can show you roughly how much will fit inside a box before it starts becoming a problem. If the box overflows every once in a while, it is not a problem; we simply replace the mail with you having a package slip.

What happens if I receive more mail than will fit in my mailbox?

If you expect a continued increase in the volume of mail you receive, you may wish to upgrade to a larger mailbox better suited for your needs. We have several options: we can open a VIP box that simply means we keep your mail in a special location and hand it to you when you come in to collect it.

Can I receive packages in my mailbox from other carriers?

You can receive packages from any carrier with your mailbox agreement. We have FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL, and even freight carriers delivering to our locations. In some case, we require additional fees for freight receiving.

Can I transfer my agreement to another store location ?

Yes, you can relocate to our other location if you find that more accessible to you. Typically, we allow a free month of turnover from one store to another where we will transfer the mail from one location to the other..

I'm moving to a different area. Can I open a mailbox before arriving at my new location?

Yes. Contact the location you wish to open the box; they can direct you to the site to download the application and instructions. If you are currently a mailbox customer at another location, make arrangements to have your mail forwarded to your new location.

Can you forward my mail if I am away?

Yes. Parcel Room offers mail-forwarding services for mailbox holders. The staff can forward your mail to you, anywhere you are. Additional charges will apply. Forwarding can be done weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-montly, and on call. The cost is $3.00 per forwarding plus the shipping. Postage is subject to surcharge.

Can you hold my mail if I am away?

Yes. We can hold your mail for you until you return from a long business trip or a relaxing vacation.

When can I pick up my mail?

If you are a mailbox holder, you can pick up your mail whenever it’s convenient for you. Our Lafayette location offers 24-hour access, the Woodbury Ave location has business hours Monday to Friday 8:30 until 6PM and Saturday 10 until 3PM.

Can other people receive mail at my mailbox?

You can add the names of individuals authorized to receive mail at your mailbox. Each recipient will need to provide two valid forms of identification in order to complete the mandatory PS Form 1583 to a maximum of 5 names per business names. Each add on pays a $5.00 set up fee.

Can other people pick up mail at my mailbox?

Yes. You can permit people to pick up your mail by lending them the key to your mailbox. Possession of the mailbox key shall be considered valid evidence that the possessor of the key is duly authorized to remove any contents from the mailbox. We cannot nor will not hand out mail to anyone not listed on the box .

Can I buy stamps?

Yes. We offer U.S. postal service stamps and other mail services. There is a service fee added to postal services and stamps.

Do you offer other USPS products?

Yes. In addition to postage stamps, Parcel Room also offers domestic and international services including Priority Mail®, Express Mail®, Parcel Post®, First Class®, Delivery Confirmation™, Certified Mail and Return Receipt. Surcharge is applied to all postal services.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. We offer 24 hour service, look for locations that are busy and have other businesses attached for safety. Look for businesses that have been around for more than 5 years. For package receiving you should sign for any package that they sign for, this increases your security and package safety. Business should accept packages from all carriers, FedEx, UPS, DHL, US Mail and even freight carriers. Business should offer free notify service so you will be emailed when a package arrives.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I wish more customer realized that there is an alternative to a PO Box. Private mailboxes offer the customer all the same benifits and MUCH more. We can accept packages from any carrier, Post Office cannot. We will notify you when a package arrives, we will even tell you if you have mail if you call. We have lots of free parking, 24 hour access to the mailboxes. We can even receive faxes for you and put them into your mailbox so they can be picked up at any time.
Ever arrrive home to find that the carrier just made the final attempt on a package you have been waiting for. We sign for your packages here and then hold them for you to pick up.

A. Look for Mailbox locations that offer 24 hr access, we accept packages and shipments from all carriers, US Mail, UPS, FedEx, DHL, even freight service. We will accept your mail and packages, we even offer a free service to email you when you receive a package. We can also receive faxes and put them into your mailbox.

A. We are one of the top shippers in our industry, the owner Jeff Ballantyne is & and has been an instructor in several key areas of the business, including freight, crating, Mailboxes, new store owners, shipping 1 & 2. We offer complete full range of services, from small packages and letters to large pieces of furniture and equipment via freight services. Custom packaging, custom crating, foam in place, we even have our own box making machine which I believe makes us the only store in the country to have this select piece of equipment.

A. Unlike the Postal Service our customers have access 24 hrs a day to their mailboxes, we accept packages and letters from all the carriers, UPS, FedEx, US Mail even freight services. We sign for any packages that require it and then log them into our system that will automatically email you when we receive a package for you. We have all the benifits of a PO BOX but none of the limits and restrictions. Private mailboxes offer security, privacy and convenience.
