MHS is proud to have certified professional dog trainers on staff to help you strengthen your bond and communication skills with your dog. We also offer private lessons for unruly behaviors, basic manners, and dog sports such as agility, obedience, and rally.
Behavioral consultations are available with our certified applied animal behaviorist. Board and train options are available.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Studies show that animals learn faster and retain behaviors longer through the use of reward-based methods of training. Be sure that the your dog and you will be treated in a respectful manner. Look for trainers that are Certified Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA or KAS; CBCC-KA, IAABC or KPA-CTP). New Hampshire is fortunate to have a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist to help dogs and their families with more serious behavioral concerns. CAAB's are uniquely qualified with academic, extensive hands-on professional experience and must adhere to ethical standards (as are Certified Professional Dog Trainers).
If your gut feels uneasy, listen and look elsewhere.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Questions you will want to ask are whether the trainer is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. Be sure to get their certification number to ensure they are up-to-date through the professional association. Ask how they would treat a specific behavior problem. If the method sounds harsh, move on. Also ask if the trainer deals with a particular behavior concern and how much experience they have with that issue. The more experience the probability of everyone having a positive experience increases.

A. Our work is outstanding because we truly care that your relationship with your canine companion is strong and long lasting. We love watching the dogs and their owners light up when they get a behavior they are working on. We care that animals and people are treated humanely and respectfully. Our trainers are Certified Professional Dog Trainers who continue their education to provide the best services to you and your pet. MHS has one of 55 Certified Applied Animal Behaviorists on staff. Additionally, MHS is the only premier training center in SW New Hampshire that has Certified Professional Dog Trainers.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. Recently MHS unveiled a new Board and Train program for owners who don't have the time or wish for one of our highly qualified trainers to train their dog. Our Board and Train program is unique in that owners may choose training with boarding, daycare, day boarding or boarding plus daycare!
