I provide training in singing, musical theater, acting, and public speaking. Training happens at your location in Somerset, Middlesex, and Morris counties. A travel fee may apply, if you are more than 30 miles from Bedminster, NJ.

You will learn to sing and speak with comfort in your throat and with no vocal cord strain. You will learn effective breathing through a "less-is-more" approach. You will improve or maintain a perfect pitch by properly interpreting it with your brain and supporting it with your face muscles and abdominal support.

This training will help increase your confidence and reduce stage fright. Clients can choose project songs or spoken material to measure progress. Training is designed for all ages and levels of ability, and a children's program is available for children ages 4 and up.

I have a degree in early childhood education and psychology and can customize music for young children as well. I also play piano and guitar to accompany you.

This training is different than others because a psychological approach accompanies technique. This is a full development program consisting of 10 sessions.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I go beyond the traditional exercise training. I teach clients to break old patterns which cause vocal mistakes, and to develop new ones. Mental visualizations are a very powerful technique I use. They can change perceived max-out points on high notes, tune pitch for accuracy, and increase fullness in the voice. Clients are taught to work out the kinks in their brain before singing, and to decrease the time it takes to do that before opening up to sing. I teach from a point of "experiencing" the techniques while performing so that they become permanent. Techniques are not meant to happen simply when clients remember to execute them.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I wish I knew that a great deal can happen in 10 sessions. I'd go in needing to know that this is a life change, much the way diet and exercise is. I'd need to understand that although I'll begin to see results immediately, it takes about 10 sessions to see full, permanant development. I'd have to understand that just like with joining a gym, I would have to work out for a period of time before seeing a major change. This is personal training for your voice.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Consumers should ask why they should choose my service. What will they get out of it? Is the program difficult? How fast will they see results? is there a lot of practice in between sessions required? How can they apply the training in their daily lives? Is there any overlap that would make practicing daily easy, and not just another thing on their "to do" list?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. You want to be sure personalities match. I offer a face to face meeting before a committment to training is made. Clients who feel comfortable with their teacher will enjoy the learning process, feel comfortable asking questions, and speak without hesitation.
