Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I am a mixologist. I also have been planning & promoting my own events and for others for 5 years now. I know a lot of different people in this business that will make yours & my event a success!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. It is not easy finding a bartending job that suits you at first. You will have to work in different types of establishments that you might feel you don't fit into.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. No inside secrets. Just that there are 1000s of drinks so please don't expect for me to know them all. LOL

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Yes, that's exactly it...details about your event & exactly what you need from me. Then I can also tell you things that you might not have even thought of. :-)

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. So many people in this world just work to make a living. That is why as a consumer, we receive substandard product or treatment. I'm not just good because i'm trained. I'm good because I like what I do!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Seeing that my clients/ customers are happy & enjoying themselves is the best part of my job! I love making people happy. A lot of people don't even like what they do & that is ashamed. I say go something you like in life so that you can answer this question yourself! LOL

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Do you have a bartending license? There is no such thing as a "bartending license". If you complete a course, you will have a "certification in bartending" which is just proof that you have had formal training. I do have certification!

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I got hired for a private party by a doc & his wife. They put all their trust in me & I made sure that they wouldn't regret it. Even though it rained before it even started, we moved the party inside. Their guests your so impressed by my professionalism & personallity! They raved about me to my clients! At the end of the night not only did my clients pay for my services, they gave me a generous tip & a bottle of Chopin they hadn't opened! I also was booked by the caterer to work with her at an upcoming event!!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. It is not easy to find a bartending position. There are places that only hire frm within. There are places that have had their staff fro so long, that it is hard to get into. Also there are places that only want a certain type of person working in their establishment.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I'm outgoing and I love to interact with people. The tips (depending where you work) aren't bad either! :-)

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I am proud of every job i've ever had or performed!!! I DO MY BEST IN EVERYTHING!

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I read and pay attention to things around me. There are people that I know that are successful in different parts of the hospitality field. I always ask questions to try and better my business.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Just remember that anything can be goggled. LOL

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. I put on my own event which was a School Uniform Themed Party! It took a month to promote & lots of budgeting. I had guests & entertainment from, NJ, NY & PA! Everyone had a great time & is waiting for it again next year!

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Normally an event will be 4hrs. I also need a half hr set up and a half hr clean up. My rate depends on the amount of guests, distance & what exactly my clients need from my services. Hourly rates will kick in if the client decides they need me for a longer period of time. As far as the event planning, host or promoting side goes, that would be a set price that the client & I will discuss.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. It is not easy finding a bartending job that suits you at first. You will have to work in different types of establishments that you might feel you don't fit into. Still give your 100% because you never who is looking. Always be prepared & network!!! There might be opportunity when you least expect it.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. That would be my passion to make people happy. I like what I do, so putting my all into my events is not a problem for me. I absolutely love to see people enjoying themselves and knowing I took part in that!

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. I havn't really been promoting myself as I should. That is really slowing me down as far as getting jobs. I know that once the public knows that I am available, I am capable of flying. All it takes is 1 great reference!
