I offer illustration and graphic design with a fine-artist touch. I have over twenty years of experience in a broad range of graphic design.
I make logos, web designs, children's book illustrations, book designs (cover and interior), T-shirt designs, advertising collateral (mailers, flyers, and business cards).
I have work as studio director within a manufacturing setting, and I have the ability to work to deadline effectively and accurately. Surface repeat design skills work for manufacturing applications for the textile and stationery business. I can provide low-cost printing services to design customers for one-stop graphic shopping.
My skills are Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver.
Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. It is most important to ask to see samples of work with similar requirements to see if you like the style. Will also be a good way to judge the creative of a designer and how well their work communicates the essentials.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Graphic designers with illustrative digital skills are more versatile than those without. More often than not images or even letters will need to manipulated to get the look just right. A non-illustrator will not be able to do this as well and will end up using stock images that look like everything else out there.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. An estimate of how long a job is likely to take. For illustration work, make sure the copyright ownership is settled before work is undertaken.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Buyers should know who is their target audience and be able to verbalize what is important to that target audience to a designer. Verbalization can take place in the form a very rudimentary sketches even if the buyer has no drawing skills. A little sketch is sometimes worth a thousand words. For web sites: it's great to sketch it out for yourself in the shape of a tree... very similar to a genealogy chart. Will help both you and the designer zero in on what is needed much more clearly.
