My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Ken, while shooting our one year anniversary pictures. I never would have thought we would have such luck finding such a great photographer here in Kuwait, but I was referred to Ken by a co-worker and we were very pleased! Although, our job schedule is very demanding, Ken was very professional and flexible to meet our needs. We felt completely comfortable shooting with him and I highly recommend his service. The proof is in the pictures!

He shot some family photos for me a few years back. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a professional photographer.

I worked with Ken in Kuwait for two years documenting MWR events and live music shows for the US Army. I handled video and Ken handled still photography. Ken was always fun to work with and he always put the mission to capture outstanding images before any other consideration, no matter how high or low profile the event.

Ken is truly passionate about producing great images and maintaining a high level of professionalism in all aspects of photography. I would highly recommend him to any prospective client or employer.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When picking a photographer to cover your event, one should look for experience, references and professionalism. A photographer with experience will know the flow of an event, the proper lighting and how to pose subjects. References should be requested when hiring a photographer, you don't want to waste your time or money on someone who isn't up to parr.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Experience, talent and professionalism is what sets me apart from others in my field. For the last 15 years I have been providing photographic support for the US Military, MWR and USO events. Everything from a 5K run to a professional concert with an audience of thousands . No matter the type of event or subject matter I treat each event the same, I provide maximum coverage and capture images that stir an emotion, tell a story and make you think. I like to build a rapport with my clients understand their needs, vision and expectations, there is more to photography than just pointing a camera. My clients needs are my first priority!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The gratitude that my clients show once they see the final images is what I like most about my business. I take pleasure knowing that I have brought their vision to life and created a piece of art that will provide memories that will last for years. How many times you have looked at a photograph that has brought back a forgotten memory of a family member, an event or a dear friend. I would be glad to photograph your next event so you could share that feeling for years to come.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Just because you own a car doesn't make you a race car driver! There is more to being a photographer then just pushing a button, Photoshop and the accolades from friends and family. You have to get the same results every time, be professional and understand your clients vision. Getting the best photograph possible can be a difficult thing, especially if you don't know the basics and even some experienced photographer may sometimes struggles with that. Building a rapport with your client is also important. I want to know your vision and what your needs are. When I present the final images to you and see that smile on your face, it is all worth the long hours, sore back and late night editing sessions because you are my first priority.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. When I was in high school I needed to take a class and thought photography would be interesting. Once I learned the basics of composition, exposure and darkroom development I was hooked, that was over 20 years ago. Since my career I have been a US Air Force photographer, worked as a civilian photographer for the US Army in Maryland for 6 years and worked 4 years in Kuwait providing photography support for the US Army there as well. My studio will launch in Summer of 2013 and look forward to doing business with you.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Photography is more competitive these days then in the past. In this field you need to stay up to date with equipment, software and technology. I'm a member of American Society of Media Photographers as well an National Press Photographers Association.
Joining professional organizations can assist you with the changes in photography, professional development, education and allow you to network with other professionals. I have also enrolled in photojournalism classes that will start Spring 2012.
