"Your party, your music, your DJ"

What is it that makes an outstanding event? Is it the music, the people, the energy or the celebration?

Michael was very good to work with. Our wedding reception was outdoors. Michael was very conscious of timing for introductions, announcements, and allowed everyone time for speeches, and had a great sense of humor. He worked very closely with us on our song list also. I would highly recommend him to others.

Michael was professional and quick to respond in order to get everything in lined up for the wedding day. Although, I didn't enjoy that he forgot to announce a pair of my wedding party during the introduction into the ceremony. That set off the night on a not so great note. Perhaps if he took a few less photos for his website and focused on the music, things would have gone a little better.

Michael was great! Easy to communicate with, organized and thought worthy. We had an awesome time, our guests loved him and I would highly recommend him for future events - private or corporate.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Weddings, birthdays, sweet sickens, graduations and all kinds of fun events!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure your DJ has a Guarantee!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. A couple of things.
First is that there is a difference between a Club DJ and a Mobile/Wedding DJ. There are some of us that do both but mostly one or the other. Book a DJ that does what you are looking for. Example; for a wedding, hire a DJ that does weddings. For a Teen party hire a DJ that does teen parties. Mega night club requires a real Club DJ that does mega clubs.

Second. More expensive does not mean better! Some of us actually care about you and your finances. Of course, I want to make too but I know that good honest service will continue to offer good pay for me. Don't let the glossy photos and slick website fool you!

Third. If you are hiring for a major event like a wedding, MEET THE DJ IN PERSON BEFORE SIGNING YOUR CONTRACT!

Fourth. Have a real signed contract!

Five. Take the time to check their references. if they hem and haw, let that teach you something.

Most important. Follow your gut! You will know in your gut whom is the correct DJ for your event.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I like making people happy. I realize how corny that sounds but it is true. I have been a DJ on and off for thirty years. Since I have returned to the business with less ego and more experience and maturity, it is a much different experience for me and those I provide music and entertainment for. I can tell by their eyes and smiles.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Hard skills; scratching, beat-matching, Etc., work well in a club but for an event like a wedding or party, the ability to read and lead a crowd, an extensive diverse library of music and a DJ Guarantee are what make it extraordinary.
