Gregg Thank you so much for the wonderful job you did at our wedding this past weekend. You made our special day a spectacular one. My mom was most impressed with the fact that you had every request she and my aunt bombarded you with.
And I have to say, The " Sweet Caroline" dance was a great touch. I cant wait to see you guys again at my sisters wedding in October...
Thanks again for all your help

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Although Allstar Entertainment Disc Jockeys does every type of party.
We specialize in Weddings. we pride ourselves on being what we consider to be the best Wedding DJ's in south jersey. Some DJ's may spend more on advertising than us, or may bring HUGE TV screens to every wedding( we offer those as well). We feel that NO DJ can read a crowd and keep the party goin like we do. We have many many years of expeience and have seen many different types of crowds. We know what to play, when to play it . We are Wedding Specialists.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. When hireing a DJ the most most inportant things to ask are:
1.Do you come prepared with back up equipment: Although no DJ plans it there is always a chance that something can go wrong with your equipment. Its much better to have the back up equipment with you, rather than wait for him to run and get it.
2. How many years experience do you have : Sure a new DJ can be good, but odds are he doesnt have the experience of reading a crowd, or may only be familiar with current music.
3. Does this DJ work with a contract : A contract protects you both. When a contract is involved it leaves less room for error. Not only that, It makes it less likley that your DJ will stick you on your even day.
4. Does he have references: Not just a page on his sight with testamonials. But an actual list of names and phone numbers or emails that allow you to contact these people and see what sort of job your DJ has done in the past
5. What type of equipment does he use: ask name brands. If your not familiar write them down and google. Sure a radio shack mic may work... but it sounds nothing like a pro mic.
Dont stop there, your DJ should welcome all and any questions openly. Any questions feel free to ask me.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Most people place more importance on finding an outstanding photographer, or videographer. Or spend Thousands on their flowers. But when it comes to a DJ they look for a bargain. The problem with that is, unless a DJ is running a special promo, if their prices are bargain then they usualy dont bring much skill to the table. And that makes other DJ's look expensive.
My prices are a very fair rate. Im charge what I need to make to keep my business running, but I dont undercut my fellow DJ's that have been in the business for years so much that they cant match me.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have loved music for as long as I can remember. I played in bands and met a person very dear to me, he became a father figure. His name was Bob and he owned the music store that I purchased my guitars and stuff from. He also ran a DJ company, and one night one of his guys couldnt go with him on a job, so he asked me to help him out. I fell in love with it right away. The next day I went to the store and ordered DJ gear. Bob taught me how to dj. He trained me and groomed me for 2 years before setting me loose.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. I think the most exciting is the use of computers, It puts your library of music right at your fingertips. No more looking for where you put that LP or CD. When a request is made you literly can have it cued up in seconds. And with mobile WIFI if for some reason I get a rare request that I dont have I can logg on and purchase it.
Up lighting is another exciting thing that we have gotten onto this year. Up lighting can make the most modest room look absolutley ellegant.
