FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not complicated. Basically, I charge $135 for the first hour. After that, I charge $55 for each half hour. Occasionally, depending on distance, time, and tolls, travel fees could apply.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a member of the Northern NJ Face and Body Art Guild, through which I take a monthly class from master body artists from all over the world. Each one adds a bit to my technique. I've also traveled to NY and CT for classes and seminars, and have attended a yearly convention in New Orleans. I'm also one of only 7 face painters in NJ who's tested into and been certified by FACE: The International Face Painting Association.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It started with a single party in 2003, when my friend's twins were turning 7 and she asked me to help figure out how to entertain them. I had her buy a small face painting kit, since she was the one with kids and "I'd never use it again." Famous last words. The kids wouldn't get off my line to go hit the pinata and get candy, and the parents started asking what I charged. A business was born!
