My dog, Loki, is what I call a “Pandemic Dog” as I rescued him as a 7 week old puppy at the very beginning of the pandemic. So, for more than a year no one came to our house, and the only place we went was to my daughter’s house to babysit my two grandbabies. At the time they were 2 and 3 years old and Loki was as gentle and loving as could be. He also played well with my daughter’s two adult dogs. But he never really developed a trust for strangers and although he’s become comfortable with “repeat visitors“ it’s still a challenge. Samantha and Peter came to meet Loki before my trip and they seemed to hit it off right away! We all thought it was a done deal. However, once I left Samantha texted that Loki was not being friendly, seemed very afraid, and subsequently hid under the bed whenever they visited. Samantha was super responsible in helping me with a realtor appointment and I received consistent communication and knew that he was being fed and watered. I wish that the eight days I was away had been easier for Loki and his caregivers but at least I knew his basic needs were being met. I highly recommend Samantha and Peter and I plan to take steps to help Loki become more accustomed to them by having supervised visits and following a plan of socialization. Thanks again Samantha and Peter for going the extra mile with Loki!

I highly recommend Wags & Woof pet sitting services. We found them on short notice and are so grateful for taking care of our pup Kaziu. It was Kaziu's first time being left with someone else for 2 weeks, and we were very happy to find out that he was very well taken care of. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A meet & greet is not required, but highly recommended. To ensure trust and see if I can accommodate the dogs needs effectively.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’m my most happiest self around dogs. Being around dogs gives me so much joy and contentment.
