Hey guys! I am now not only at my 7th Ave location, but at 600 Pavonia Ave, right across from the Journal Square PATH station!!! – Mar 03, 2011 at 2:27 pm
As a massage therapist who has worked for 10 years with various medical practitioners, physical therapists, and athletic teams, I have extensive practical experience working with the physiologic aspects of our injuries while being able to successfully fuse the intrinsic energy that lies within our psychosomatic experiences.
I believe that manual manipulation of our soft tissue (such as muscles, ligaments, fascia and connective tissue) is a very powerful form of preventative and remedial treatment. I have had the pleasure of working within athletic training teams for college athletes, with chiropractors, cardiologists, physiotherapists, surgeons, and high profile clientele such as professional athletes and performers from major music acts.
I have focused my specialties on sports rehab and prevention, chronic pain management, and lymphatic drainage for post operative patients and also for people suffering from auto immune diseases. I have done both work with therapeutic care teams as well as private one on one sessions.
Because I have a passion for my work and because I believe it is important to give back, I have had the privilege to volunteer with non-profit groups like The Hyacinth Foundation working with auto-immune patients, Life Rolls On working with mobility disabled children and adults due to both circumstantial and congenital issues, and Ive also worked internationally with special needs patients with brain injuries which resulted in occupational dysfunctions or partial paralysis as is the case with aphasia, peripheral neuropathies, stroke, or fibromyalgia.
My work in the field of physiotherapy facilitated my skill set dealing with chronic pain sufferers. There are many modalities to deal with persistent, ingrained soft tissue constriction. To treat chronic conditions, I specialize each massage to fit the needs of each client, every time I see them. I do not believe in massage "routines". By not relying on a routine, I can deal with the specific presentation and resolution of issues on an individual basis. By doing this, I have seen some amazing changes in peoples bodies, and also quality of life!
Any questions you may have about a condition, a massage, or anything related please do not hesitate to contact me!

I went to see Ceallaigh because my back was a mess. I was hoping to find someone who could run me through a good routine to release some of the knots and stress that were in my back.
Ceallaigh explained what she was doing from the beginning and I soon found that she wasn't taking me through a set routine - she was customizing the treatment for me on the fly. I felt sore the next day but have felt good ever since then.
I'm a pretty busy guy with a young family, so I needed to find someone who would do a great job, and not just some temporary relief.
I would recommend Ceallaigh to anyone and everyone as long as she can still fit me into her schedule :)
Ceallaigh, you're a hidden gem... see you soon!

A. As a therapist who has had extensive training with doctors internationally and locally in Hospitals such as Sloane Kettering, I have an in depth knowledge of the body and its pain systems. I know 18 different modalities to give you the most specific and comprehensive session possible. I have two locations, both in Jersey City and travel to people also, within a certain range.
A. I love being able to give people relief from pain or helping them maintaining a lifestyle that would not be possible without treatment. I also being able to guide people through emotional pain bodies that we all hold in our systems.
