We were having a new office built out in Pine Brook, NJ when I was approached to have "my guys" install my data and voice wires installed while the walls were open. This was a surprise to me, as I assume it was included in the build out. In any event, I called Rob and he was on the job almost immediately. He explained to me what could and should be installed and why, provided me with a very reasonable cost to do the job and has his crew install everything within a few days of my agreement. All was complete in less than a day, the job was done extremely neat and even the contractors were impressed with their quality. After further discussion, I learned Rob could take care of setting up my Optimum service as well as my VOIP telephone service. The costs were the same or better and I don't even have to deal with the vendors too much, so it was an easy decision to expand my relationship to let him handle those items of my business as well. Overall, I am very happy with Rob and the Distinctive Voice and Data crew. I will be having them back to do more work in the near future and have no problem recommending all of them. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are always looking to stay on top of our game attending technology conferences, shows and having educated techs with IT Security Masters Degrees and certifications.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been in the telecommunications industry for about 12 years. I was in wireless sales for a long time and needed a change of scenery. I was so intrigued by the way things work and the direction in which the world was going I knew it would be the right fit for me. Computers and technology are never going away and neither am I.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Common jobs include network consulting and support, cabling and office moves as well as phone systems and surveillance cameras. A lot of our customers start out doing business with us in just one area and eventually decide that going with us for all their computer needs is in their best interest.
