Introduction: Staying true to traditional teaching is important to me, however each student learns at his/her own pace where one student may need a slower, more structured curriculum while another needs a more varied, advanced course of study. This revels itself quickly and I pride myself in my ability to diagnose one's learning style, finding his/her specific need and applying various methods to address that need, from sight reading and transposing to finger placement and exercises. I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to teach students on an individual basis, which allows me to customize lesson plans according to each student's needs and abilities. I believe that everyone excels in different ways, and once I ascertain what makes a student learn most proficiently, I'm able to provide points of motivation to excite, encourage and bring out the musician in each student.
Find a job you love and never work a day, I am blessed to have a job I love. To share my passion for music and the guitar while fulfilling the dreams of students both young and old is priceless. To watch a student learn and grow and discover new things about themselves, sometimes in a healing capacity is amazing as are all the great people I get to meet as an instructor.
