Introduction: When putting my heart and soul into what i do, i feel it transfers to the results i get. I also can offer some very artistic conceptions of the work i do through editing skills. I find that my clients love getting a few different options of the photos i take...some they would never have envisioned themselves...and often will opt for a few in the set they choose to purchase, because it is “different” or unusual. i LOVE making memories, meeting new people and helping them make new memories too. Having photographs of treasured events in peoples lives leads to more smiles...a ripple effect of smiles that spreads through many generations. Happiness is a journey, not a destination and i love capturing the journey for my clients to look back on! Seeing my clients relax and have as much fun as i am while doing a shoot puts a big smile on my face. i want them to remember the fun of making beautiful, magical portraits to treasure.

Susan has done photo shoots with me and her work amazes me. Her attention to details, lighting and her surroundings are outstanding. She also has a great sense of timing, humor and love for what she does. All of these qualities show through her hard work and love of photography and art. I would highly recommend Susan for any and all types of photography work that you would want done.

Susan has photographed my daughter on 3 occasions (6 weeks old, baptism pictures and 1 year old pictures). She works wonderfully with children and knows just how to get the perfect shot! She had great ideas for location pictures and was also open to any ideas I had. I would definitely recommend her for your photography needs.

I have known Susan for more than 12 years. Through out that time I have been honored to have seen her art work in drawings and her photography. I have purchased many of her cards and photos for gifts and every time the items are always a big hit. The detail and the creativity she uses is just outstanding.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have found that taking classes and learning are a lifelong desire for me. i love learning new things and experimenting. i take both on location classes and online classes, and plan to continuously do so, to satisfy my curiosity and the wants and needs of my clients. i am very much a visual and hands on learner, so both of these types of classes work well for me, and i have gained so much by doing this.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always been artistic....actually, an artist is all i have ever dreamed of being. Photography is an art that allows me to show others how i see my world, AND allows me to artistically interpret what i see in so many ways. I dabbled in Portraiture before i had my 3 daughters...and when they came along in fast succession, i had to put things on the back burner for quite some time. When they went off to college, i began to dabble again, and renew my love of what i only then realized i was missing....a lot! Now that they are one their own and i was downsized in my hours of work at a local school, i decided it was the perfect time to make my long awaited dream come true! I continue to take classes and learn new techniques to make beautiful art to be enjoyed for generations to come.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Have a basic idea of what type of photographs or portraits you are looking for. Casual or formal, indoor or out? Do you like B&W, color, sepia, antiqued or perhaps layered and textured or enhanced with filters? Having an idea helps the photographer please you and you be happy with the work he or she does. Communication is key. By checking on my website you will see a variety of treatments, and can get an idea of what you might like, or definitely don’t like. Feel free to call me and ask questions....i am happy to help!
