- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I studied theater restoration and art in Moscow Ukraine. During military service, I was commissioned for unique works of art, all while being an amateur in the trade. The natural course of things took me and my company from one such avenue to another. Over time, my focus has shifted from original art and painting to restoration.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Get a history lesson about the item you are repairing. A good restorer should be able to tell you more than you already know about your piece in no time at all. Take a look at the work the artist has done... if they proudly display it; chances are you'll find something you like, can reference, or will inspire you.
