FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes as a professional you must stay current and keep yourself educated. Martial Arts Fitness has been open since 2007 and I have completed 6 certifications and counting in fitness and health. I also am a student at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology studying in the Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree program. I also train and study in education courses for Kettlebells, TRX, Functional Movement and more. It is vital as a trainer to always improve and sharpen your skills in order to provide the safest and most effective training environment for your clients.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Clients come in for a wide variety of challenges they are facing but the most common are weight loss, self-defense, and children's martial arts. Weight loss is very common goal for many clients as they are looking to get healthy and in better shape. Helping client reach their goals is our goal. We do this through proper nutrition coaching and fitness programs. Clients learn the skills needed to live a healthy lifestyle and enjoy the way they look! We believe that anyone can be successful when committed to a program that is designed personally for them and has the tools to meet their needs.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
This is a great question and one that I get asked all the time. What should I look for when hiring a trainer? Many times clients focus on the wrong things when looking to hire someone. Maybe they saw something on TV or a friend told them that a certain type of training was the best. When you consider someone to be your personal trainer, you need to make sure that they do a few things for you. First, do you feel comfortable with this person? This is very important and their needs to be trust between client and trainer. The client must trust that their trainer is going to do everything to keep them safe and help them reach their goals. A trainer needs to trust that a client is going to stick to and follow their program in order to reach their goals. A client must see results! Results are why you are training in the first place. Does your program meet your needs? Is it helping you to get where you want to go? Will you be able to learn enough so that if you choice, you can follow the program on your own in the future? You also must have fun! This is over looked by many and unvalued. How long will you continue down a healthy road if every time you step into the gym you are miserable? If you dread each workout before it starts, is there longevity in what your doing? If your trainer can provide these to you then you are started down the road to success and a lifestyle that will get you into the best shape of your life.
