Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. For the most part, much of the work I do falls under the category of birthday parties. From small parties with about 8 kids, or big birthdays with a sea of 50 children, I dedicate my time to giving them a design they love to show off. Other types of jobs would be events, parades, charity fundraisers or fairs, with attendants upward of 2,000 people or more! Either way, I have a blast no matter what the occasion.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Some advice I've give to someone interested in party entertainment would be:
-Shop around and check out all possibilities.
-Ask the performer what products they use.
-Check to see is discounts are available
-Ask the company what they suggest

Also, be sure to book ahead of time! It may seem strange to book a party months in advance, but you're rather be safe then sorry.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Creative Faces is there with everything you need to keep the party fun for kids of all ages. Only using FDA approved materials, and always prepared (tables/chairs/tent if need be), Creative Faces knows how to work with events of all sizes. Great with kids and adults, and will always enjoy the party while dazzling everyone's face with a great design!

A. Also be sure to ask any question you may have before hiring someone to work for you. Such questions as 'How long have you been in this business?' and 'Are you licensed' would be helpful to ask. These answers will help put you at ease so that you're comfortable making the right decision.

A. When contacting Creative Faces to get a quote for your party, please have with you information about your event.
This would include: date, time, location, and what services you are interested in getting a quote for. This will make is easier to give you an exact price that is affordable for you.

A. What do I get out of it? I enjoy doing this!
I love kids and I love exploring their different personalities as they keep me entertained with unique conversations while I paint.
It's a never ending cycle of fun & learning when I do an event.

A: Yes I do. A small non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date & time.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. One of my favorite things about this fun job is: the kids. As I sit & paint, or stand & twist, I get a moment to be on the level as all the kids. Sometimes I cannot stop laughing as I paint a child's face & the entire time they're talking in random sentences about their life. "Does you cat & dog fight at home?" , "Does your college ask you for money like my dad?" , or "I'm a face painter, too. I can help you paint my face"... Sometimes I get my own version of Kids Say the Darndest Thing.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Creative Faces is a licensed company founded in 2010 by Gabrielle Martinez. Bringing to you fun and affordable entertainment services, Creative Faces always makes sure to get work & fun accomplished at the same time. Sort of a work-a-holic, Gabrielle enjoys entertaining at parties whenever she can. With a background in visual and performing arts, she fills her days up with as many things as she can do. From filming to sports, and everything in between, she is definitely a busy bee with a Can-Do Attitude you'll want at your party!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Ever since I was a kid I've been into visual art in some form or another. From chunky mixed media projects to state arts fair finalist or paintings, art has always been in my life. Recently my media has changed from a canvas to a cheek (or an arm, or the entire face). I do this because I love it; I enjoy it. Also, a canvas doesn't talk back to you, so my conversations now aren't one-sided :-)

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. A few weeks ago I did another party for a repeat customer. First of all, I love clients who I get to see multiple times. Second, this particular group of friends who pass around my business card is nothing short of amazing. With only great party ideas, a love for life and permanent smiles, it's no wonder I have a blast entertaining there. The kids, every time I see them get just a bit older & always a bit cuter. Everyone always has a wonderful time and remembers me and my work. I am proud to be someone they continue to call back.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes! I am always learning and can't wait to see what's new. Whether it be by books, taking classes, watching videos or just experimenting with my nephew & niece, I am constantly learning and keeping up to date with new & improved designs, party entertainment and fashions.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Creative faces now has Characters in stock!
Now you can party with one of your favorite friends. From Elmo to Dora or Mickey Mouse! Each one comes with a music cd so that you can dance & show your moves. Don't forget to take photos so you can show all your friend how cool you are for having Brobbee at your party!

Another 'new' for Creative Faces is party souvenirs. Right now you can get balloon yo-yo balls for everyone. This fantastic toys are fun & very resilient. These things keep kids occupied and always bounce back the fun to them.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. My most recent project is a huge event for 4th of July weekend at the Camden Waterfront. This event will have so many people that you probably will not be able to see one inch of the ground. There an estimate of over 2 thousand people. This took weeks to prepare. From brushing up on techniques and learning new tricks, to mastering a quicker way on twisting yo-yo balloons and setting up a spot. This is a great event to be a part of!

A. The price of your package is determined by many details. Please call and share the information about your party (date/time/location) so that you can receive an accurate quote for your event.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Before getting into a profession such as party entertainment, be sure to ask yourself these questions:
--Am I good with children/people?
--Am I patient?
--Can I handle a lot of people around me, talking all the time?
--Can I work under pressure but still maintain a positive attitude and a friendly smile?

If you answer yes to these then that's a big step in the right direction. You must also make sure you have talent in art. Never stop practicing and learning. Also be open minded and look at your parties as the best (and most fun) job you will ever have!

A. Q: Do you offer glitter tattoos for everyone?
A: No. Glitter tattoos can last about as long as Henna Tattoos, but are a lot more attention-grabbing then Henna. Since this process uses body glue, I would not recommend using this on children under the age of 5years old. Also, glitter tattoos are rarely used above the shoulders.

A. Q: Do you travel anywhere?
A: Creative Faces travels to party locations in the tri-state area, NJ, PA & DE. There is a small fee per mile after the first 20 miles from the zip code 08109. However, Creative Faces will not travel an unreasonable distance. For example: 2 hours drive time one way for a 1 hour party

A. Q: Is there an hourly minimum?
A: This can very per parties. In most situations no, however all first time customers booking 2 hours or more will receive a discount off the total package price. Other than that, if the party location is close by & you request an hour, that can be done.
