Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Not all video advertising is equal. Your teen with a Flip camera can post your video to YouTube, but do they understand how to leverage Google and reach your market? To be effective, your videos should uniquely target specific demographics (men, women, age groups, towns, regions, etc). Remember, the best video marketing agencies not only create market specific video, but can GUARANTEE increased market exposure.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Consumers want to buy from trusted providers -- friends. Due to video's ability to establish connection, build familiarity, and influence opinion, you are making a smart choice by leveraging this medium. However, all video is not created equal and neither are video services. Therefore, it's important to understand whether the video provider is quoting video services only, or if their services include broad, online content distribution, article and blog marketing, podcast and social media.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Web-video marketing is a new and changing landscape. This leaves the market open to Snake-oil salesmen trying to make a fast buck from hard working business owners. Therefore, I recommend two primary questions:

1. "How can I measure my return on investment (ROI) from your services?
2. "Do you GUARANTEE an increase in local market exposure?"

If you’re not satisfied with these answers, how can you expect satisfaction with the outcome?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The more clearly that you can define your market, the better. Online video enables you to uniquely target specific demographics (men, women, age groups, towns, regions, etc.) Good marketing agencies will refine your message to appeal to a specific market segment. It's in your best interest to get the most out of your marketing dollar by investing where you reap the greatest return.
