Introduction: I'm a performer as well as a teacher. I'm not only highly trained in vocal pathology, vocal health, vocal technique, and acting for all mediums. I also have 22+ years of performance experience,15+ years of songwriting experience, and 8+ years as a recording artist. I'm constructively honest with my feedback and I genuinely care about my students, their voices, as well as their well being. I am very understanding and patient but I also know when to put my foot down when needed. I break everything down and always find the right way to explain a term or a new concept to each student until they understand it. Everyone has their own learning style. Some people are visual learners, some are auditory learners, and some are kinesthetic learners (tactile learners). Each student learns the same technique, but is taught in a way that they can relate to. This is so they can learn and grow as a performer more efficiently and at their own pace. In order to have an efficient, enjoyable lesson, the student and the teacher must work together as a team. This is so the student can reach his or her maximum potential. Rachel is also a performer, so she understands and can relate to her students every step of the way, because has been there too. The lesson isn't about me, the teacher. It's about you, the student, and ultimately about what I can do to help you achieve your goals (technical/performance). That's really what my job is. There's no room for egos.

I've been taking private and group voice classes at The Menconi Performance Studio for 2 years now and all I can say is, Rachel really knows what she's doing! My voice has improved so much in the private lessons. I also love performance class because we are like family. We learn a lot from critiquing each other and we take notes on singing and performance technique that I'm able to look at when I'm practicing outside of the lesson. Since working with Rachel, I have had more confidence than I have ever had in my entire life! No matter what age you are, you will learn a lot from her.

I dont know how she does it but Rachel always knows how to fix my problem(s) and makes sure that I know how to fix my problem(s) too in between lessons. Rachel really is the Sherlock Holmes of singing!

Children, teens, and adult voice lesson 2013/2014 rates. Adult Weekly Lesson Pricing: (Age 18+) - 45 minutes -- $45; 60 minutes -- $55; 90 minutes -- $85; and 120 minutes -- $110. Adult Bi-weekly (Every Other Week) Lesson Pricing: - 45 minutes -- $55; 60 minutes -- $65; 90 minutes -- $95; and 120 minutes -- $120. Adult Once A Month Lesson Pricing: - 60 minutes -- $95; 90 minutes -- $120; and 120 minutes -- $160 (there are no 45-minute lessons given for once a month students). Children Weekly Lesson Pricing: (Age 17 and under) - 45 minutes -- $65; 60 minutes -- $75; 90 minutes -- $95; and 120 minutes -- $110. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I'm frequently in a class keeping my own talents fresh and/or researching and sometimes testing out new developments. This is why I can say I teach Bel Canto for the Modern singer because I'm always researching about up to date vocal technique.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first taught voice & acting at a musical theatre school from 2001-2004. In 2005, I opened my private home voice & acting studio, The Menconi Performance Studio. I currently teach 20+ private students, teach 3 different group classes, and offer many workshops periodically in NJ & NYC. I've been has been performing and professionally training since the age of 2.
