Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Your therapist will go over your health questionnaire with you before treatment commences, and will also assist you in selecting any aromatherapy you may enjoy for the treatment you have selected. The therapist is most interested in making sure that you receive the most enjoyable and effective treatment, and is considerate of everything from the temperature of the room to the pressure used during a massage.

Any expert therapist appreciates guidance from their guest on which areas of the body could use more or less pressure, if a certain area requires more attention, if you would like a change in music, or if another steamed towel is desired. Never be afraid to voice any questions, concerns or comments, as feedback can often be an essential element in turning a good treatment into a spectacular treatment. You get to choose whether or not you would like a conversation with your therapist on topics other than the treatment you are receiving. Most guests simply want to relax, and even drift off to sleep during some treatments, and no matter what feels the best for you at the time, your therapist will go with the flow and support you.

Once your treatment concludes you will be provided with a fresh beverage of your choice, and also time to relax before you dress.

A. As a holistic wellness and rejuvenation spa, we are proud to offer total wellness treatments and services using ancient techniques, recipes, and oils with only pure, natural, and organic ingredients.

We guard the health and well-being of our guests with thorough cleaning of all equipment, supplies, etc., used between each and every guest.

We welcome any questions and/or concerns, and invite feedback before, during and after treatments.

We do not push sales of any of our products on our guests. We do give free samples when we have them, and if you love something we have used in your treatment, we are happy to sell it to you, order it for you, or in some instances where you do not need to be in the business, we provide you with the info so you can order it directly.

We hold life sacred, we use our knowledge and gifts for the good of all people we have the opportunity to work with.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How Do You Operate?
Most spas operate in the same manner: You will be warmly greeted and given a quick tour of where you can freshen up and where the restroom is located, and the amenities for your use (combs, mouthwash, etc.) before you are shown to the treatment studio.

Do You Consider My Health, Safety & Comfort?
We always inquire about current and prior health states, concerns and goals during private consult, a beverage is prepared and served to you, you will be shown music selections via an easy to select computer screen and we offer dozens of genres for you to choose from, and a plush spa robe is provided for you to change into if you are having multiple services.

What Do I Look For In A Great Spa & Staff?
You should discover, in any spa, that all of the staff are trained, experienced, licensed, welcoming, competent, have a pleasant personality, are likable, easy to work with, and also trustworthy and most eager to be helpful to you. A hanger, hooks and personal items valet is provided for you to hang your clothing and store your personal items. If you choose to wear any jewelry during treatment, that part of your body will not receive hands-on treatment, as it sometimes may result in breakage, or injury for you and/or the therapist.

We give you time to relax after your treatment, because we know that's one of the best feelings in the world. And for those enjoying multiple services, our intimate yet spacious treatment studio features a sitting area with an ultra comfortable down-filled settee and chic loft style fireplace, dimmable lighting, an air purification system, computer for music channel selection, chromatherapy (color therapy) projector, bamboo curtains separating the treatment area, and a table with bar bench and leather bar stool if you prefer that seating area. We also offer luxurious meditation cushions, incense, shawls, plush robes, meditation music and guided soundtracks. You can expect your private retreat time to be, from start to end, anywhere from 15-30 minutes, depending on your wishes, services booked and time we have available.

What Are The Features Of The Treatment Area?
The treatment area features a plush padded and heated table with soft, clean sheets and blankets, a table steam bath canopy, lighted fountain with gentle chimes, dressing area with stool, and shares the fireplace, chromatherapy, music system, aromatherapy system, and air purifier.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Spa Zen & Now is in constant pursuit of continuing education, which may include CEU's in various modalities, to researching and incorporating different organic and herbal blends which have shown results in scientific human clinical trials.

We strive to stay up to date with what is happening in the Spa/Wellness Retreat world, and also other forms of alternative health and wellness practices that we can incorporate into our protocols to maximize the enjoyment and effectiveness of the treatments and services we offer our guests. However, the mainstay of our practices is time tested and proven ancient Ayurvedic therapies.

Additionally, we work with conscious intent towards the total well-being of our guests. We approach each guest by putting our individual ego's aside, with great compassion, deep will and desire, to make a positive difference in the life of every person we have the opportunity to touch.

A. Do You Offer Mobile Spa Massage Therapist Services & Treatments?

Yes, we make housecalls (or hotel calls). There is a flat rate of .75 cents per mile roundtrip. For instance, if you are located 10 miles from us, the travel time/mileage fee would be $7.50 each way, so $15 would be the total travel time/mileage fee. If reserving shirodhara, swedana and/or hot stones, there is $25 fee for transport, setup, breakdown of equipment, and about 15-20 minutes additional time needed.

Your therapist will arrive between 10-15 minutes before your appointment time to set up and prepare the table, music, candles, and any aromatherapy and/or pain relief or other special blends of oil, herbs and botanicals that will best address your goals of treatment.
