Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Please make certain the provider you choose has adequate training. Unfortunately, many states do not license naturopathic physicians and do not protect the term "naturopath"- therefore, in many states, anyone can hang up a shingle and claim to be a naturopath. Ask for credentials!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Naturopathic physicians have different "bents" in their way of practicing. Look for the physician who best fits your way of thinking. For example, I am a science-based practitioner. Ask whether the practitioner you are considering does energetic work or is science-based.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask about training. Ask whether the practitioner carries a license in a state which does license naturopathic doctors.
