FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common job type is the addition of a bathroom to a basement. This is typically in concert with the finishing the basement. Clients are looking for a way to reduce some of the tie up of the main bathroom and there is no better way than to add another bathroom somewhere in the home. Although the basement might seem like a ways away from the typical 2nd floor, children do not usually mind going to the basement if it means they have thier own space. Adding another bathroom in the home adds both convenience and value so in most cases it is an easy decision.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently a client came to us through a referral and wanted to put a bathroom in thier family room for thier aging mother who was going to be living with them. They had a large house so loosing some of this space to become part of a bathroom was not a big deal. What was a big deal was the fact that 3 other contractors had told them it couldn't be done because of where the family room was in relation to thier main waste line. With some research we determined that with the installation of a small pump that we could infact put that bathroom in the family room. We even added a walk-in closet and some lighting so that the room could be converted into a bedroom. The resulting bathroom and bedroom were exactly what the client was hoping for and we fealt good about being able to solve this problem.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH!! There is so much information out there regarding different types of remodelling projects that when a person decides they want to add a bathroom to thier basement or third floor, they should already know most of the process by the time the first prospective contractor shows up to bid on the job. Why is this so important? It is important because you want to know what is going to be going on in your home. You want to be able to ask the right questions and know you are being given the right answers. There are a lot of qualified sites out there (thisoldhouse.com, DIY.com, eHOW.com) that can provide real insight into the process you are thinking about and having this information will help you make the right decisions when hiring a contractor. Good luck!!
