Stamping Real Personalities in Photographs
Lea began her photography business after graduating art school with her BFA in photography and moving to NY, almost 10 years ago. While working as a commercial photo assistant, Lea began taking on corporate events and eventually striking out on her own. She put in a few years as a second shooter to a couple well established NY photographers, eventually beginning to book on her own.
I have found that my clients appreciate my experience and professionalism. Wedding photography is as much about good communication as it is creating beautiful imagery on one of the most important days in people's lives. I like to offer engagement sessions in my packages since it offers me an opportunity to get to know my clients visually and be even better prepared to capture the best shots on the day.
Some of Lea's favorite wedding coverage has been in DIY weddings. One of the most memorable was with a German couple who loved the city and wanted to marry in New York. They went through a few iconic areas in the city, which included much walking and taxi driving to and from different locations. Before leaving the meatpacking district, the bride stopped for a pretzel and a soda, which the couple loving shared while walking to get a taxi. Lea was hanging back but on hand to snap a photo and remembers it as one of her favorite wedding moments in New York City.
I like to allow some space between me and my subjects, to read their moods and be on hand for their moments rather than posing people in standard fashion. I aim to generate photographs that are as unique as the moment that happens so that when you have your photos from your wedding day you will hopefully see it as you remember and feel the day all over again.
