Question and answer

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. 1. Always ask what kind of printer they use.
-Many of the less expensive companies out there use a basic home office printer (either inkjet or laser) to print their photos. Pictures printed from this type of printer WILL FADE. Yes, maybe you'll save a little money, but what's the point if you're going to end up with an album full of faded pictures in less than a year. Also beware of companies that tell you they use a standard photo printer; I caught one company using a home-use HP photo printer that you can purchase yourself for $150 at Target. These photo printers are not professional quality and will not print photos even remotely as clearly as our photos. The fading is also an issue here. Last, but not least, watch out for companies that say they use archival ink as an argument against fading pictures. Archival ink completely loses its ability to resist fading when printed on glossy paper.

Our digital photo booth uses a dye-sublimation printer to print photos. The ink is actually burned into the paper, so fading is not an issue. Dye-sublimation printers are the best possible printers for photo printing. All professionally printed digital pictures should be done w/ this type of printer.

2. Make sure you know what the photo booth you're getting looks like!
-I've found that less expensive companies often have tons of sample photos of the pictures themselves on the website, but don't necessarily show you what the booth itself looks like, which would certainly concern me. Many of the less expensive companies in this area offer what is now being referred to as, "Pipe and drape," which is simply velour curtains hung around a metal or pvc pipe frame with a bench or chair situated inside.

We offer legitimate, solid exterior booths. By legitimate, I mean you/your guests enter the photo booth, sit down, make your color selections via on screen instruction, the machine takes your picture, you leave the booth and the booth itself prints the photos. There is no human manipulation of the photos whatsoever, which is great, because the most wonderful thing about photo booths is the privacy factor. You take different photos when you're concealed within the booth with no one watching. The privacy element is what makes photo booth pictures so magical! The photos tend to come out much different if you're aware that someone is watching you/sitting in front of a computer, looking at you inside the booth and taking the photos with their computer.

3. Make sure the price they give you is the finalized price.
- A lot of these companies have hidden charges that you don't know about until after you make the reservation. They'll charge for what they call idle time- which means if you're ceremony starts at 6, cocktail hour starts at 7, and your contract time is from 8-12, but you want to make sure the photo booth is set-up before your guests arrive at 6, they'll charge you for those 2 hours that the photo booth is not being used. There are also companies that charge additional fees depending upon how close to the event you make your reservation. There is almost no other company that includes the complimentary scrapbook- other companies charge up to $395 for what we offer for FREE.
We do not charge for standard delivery logistics. We contact your venue directly to work out an appropriate delivery time. You could book with us the day before your event if you really wanted to and we would accommodate you at no additional charge. Lastly, we include the scrapbook free because every couple should have this scrapbook. It's an incredible keepsake filled with photos of your friends and family and their messages, thoughts, and well-wishes from the night of your wedding.
