Introduction: I offer guitar, piano, music theory, and songwriting lessons for all ages in my home for an affordable price of $30 for half hour, $40 for 45 minutes, and $50 for an hour. I have been teaching for over 6 years. I've taught nearly a hundred or more students in my experience with all genres, including classical guitar with a special expertise in blues and rock guitar as well as songwriting. I'm a very laid-back person, and I am easy to reschedule with and do not charge for call out as long as they're not excessive. I live with my mother and lessons will take place on the first floor in our family room. Guitar players will bring their instrument, and piano players will play on my beautiful 1920 Weber baby grand piano. I try my best to keep a balance of what the student wants to learn with the necessary skills that the student must learn to accomplish his or her goals in the most fun and rewarding way possible. I don't believe that there is "one way" to do things, and that couldn't be truer in the subject of music. I understand that everyone has different reasons for learning; some want to go to a music school, and some just want to have a fun hobby. FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Discuss their musical taste and goals, and working with them to make a lesson plan that can be both fun and productive. Lessons are usually split into two parts, going over last weeks work (home practice) and starting nexts weeks practice. I’m very easy going with the lesson plans, we can move focus around as interests emerge or fade. Time spent in front of the instrument and stretching your ability slowly and consistently are the two most important things.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in classical guitar. I study and practice music in some form everyday.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always known I would go into music but didn't think I'd enjoy teaching until I tried it. I took a job at a local store when I was 20 and never wanted to stop. It's a very flexible profession which is great for a musician.
