Introduction: My name is Mike VanBerkel a 3rd generation Residential and Commercial Remodeling Contractor. I have never left a job incomplete like so many nightmare stories i hear about. i have taken the building inspectors course in 1995 and again in 2009 the reason for this was to be able to interpret the codes according to the code books of that time. since 1195 we have changed code books in Nj three times. Most contractors don’t know that. I didn’t want to be a building inspector. I wanted to give my customers the Best and most upto date experience without being held up with inspections because i didn’t know what the codes were. everyone has heard stories of projects that take forever because the inspectors. The inspector is just doing his job it’s the job of the contractor to know the codes so he can pass his inspections. My whole professional life i always wanted to be the Best at what i did for my clients.
