Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Normal maintenance work. Upgrading for energy efficiency such as high performance replacement windows, siding products, roofing, as well as interior remodeling like kitchens and bathrooms, exterior living spaces such as sunrooms, screen enclosures, decks and concrete work.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Understanding that we want to get their project completed in a timely fashion and not rush though it just to meet a deadline. We don't earn our profit until the job is finished correctly. Please be patient and realize we are human beings as well and have the same objective on project competion and satisfaction. Remodeling is much more challenging than new construction.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I wish I knew who the good reputable contractors were.
Make sure the contractor you hire has current licensing,is registered with the BBB and has at least a B+ rating with the BBB, has current in force liability AND workers compensation insurance.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Alway realize that for every action there is a consequence. Customers must be prepared for the unknown. Example; removing a load bearing wall will require another type of support system to hold up the roof!! Or we may have to upgrade a complete electrical service when remodeling a kitchen, to comply with updated building code requirements, for there own well being will create another cost that may not have been thought of when budgeting the initial project!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We guaranty 100% satisfaction and we back it with very strong product and labor warranties!
We also offer 100% financing along with debt consolidation services so we can make our projects very affordable with comfortable monthly budgeting.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I get a great feeling of accomplishment when the project is completed and I have made my customers happy.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How soon can you start, and will you stand behind your work? My answer is always, whenever it is convenient for you, and absolutely yes. When I arrange payment scheduling, it is set up so we don't receive our final payment until a job satisfaction and completion certificate is signed and submitted by my customer, and they are competely happy.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I remember an elderly couple that was interested in having a kitchen and bathroom remodeled. The total price was $68,500.00. They had been living in the home for 44 years. I asked for the order. The husband said he had been going to a lot of funerals and all of his friends were gone. He said he had never seen an armored car follow the hearse into the cemetary. He wished he had had these projects done long ago so the would have had more time to enjoy it. He told his wife to write me a check for half the money down and told me to hurry up and get the work done quickly!!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. How really challenging it is. There are many uncontrolable variables that we must face on a routine basis. Examples are; inclement weather conditions that can wreak havoc on production scheduling, building inspectors that don't show up on the jobsite in a timely fashion which slows the progress, damaged materials in shipping, etc.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I knew that as homes age, they will always require maintenance and upgrades. And, it is a good feeling when I am able to provide a high level of professionalism to homeowners.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. There are many and it would take too much space here to describe them accurately.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes, continuing education, just as in any profession, is important in the residential remodeling business to stay current with new trends and changes in products, methods and building codes.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Ways of making the home more energy efficient thereby reducing energy consumption and lowing the basic costs of living and sustaining environmental resources.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. We did a complete kitchen renovation that required the complete gutting of the existing space and reconfiguring the layout, which included rerouting plumbing and electrical circuits. The project took us two weeks to complete. the cost was $57,750.00

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Every project has it's own nuances, therefore pricing a project is not simply coming up with what customers like to call a "ballpark" figure. Many projects have several components involved that must be examined individually and then combined as a unit for accurate pricing so it is complicated and must be anylized very carefully so as to price it correctly so that there are minimal "surprises" for the homeowner. We can't see behind walls and other structures, unlike doctors who have the ability to x-ray a body.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Become a doctor, it's easier and the money is better!!

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. Can I do the job for 1/2 the price? Sure, which 1/2 of the window would you like? The top or the bottom!
